I just saw this on ebay :

Saw it has a porsche steering wheel in it and was wondering how it fits? does it go straight on?

yep.

do you know off which car it has to be to go straight on? 911 944 924 or so?

also am I right in assuming that the car in the advert has got the big spline steering column?

I am sure a 924 / 944 one will fit straight on as I believe they used an Audi 100 steering column.

used to have one on the mk1. fits perfectly, horn works too!  was a bit thin though

Pretty sure I've read a build thread for this car at some point....cant for the life of me think what forum it was on tho
