My mk2 driver started leaking oil over the last few days, I am finding small puddles left behind when parked and the level has dropped down to below the marker on the dipstick. Am assuming that it is the rocker cover gasket, or rocker cover just needs tightening...
...however, sadly I can't fix any of these things myself, so just wondering, if I top up the oil and continue driving until I can get to the garage on Friday, is this dangerous for the engine? Should I stop driving completely? I only do between 5-10 miles each day.
Thanks

As long as your oil is between min and max - the only damage you will do is to your wallet.

Croline - can you see where the leak is coming from as if you go into a garage and just say "I think its the rocker gasket" some garages are out to make as much money as possible so could have your car in for ages telling you its something its not :undecided:
when did you last change the oil/filter? Is it leaking down from the cover?
Dinx

Get under with a rag and clean off as much as possible, then run engine and maybe you will see where coming from!
Oh if you do this make its secure on stands and hand brake on.
