bad earth cable?
-
fuel pump relay? (b4 someone else says it )
-
not earth, thats fine, plugs and leads fine too also oil level and coolant level fine it happened once the car had got warm then started once the car had cooled down it seemed
but when the aa chap came he checked everything couldn't find any faults took a ht lead off to check for spark and the car started fine but wouldn't before he checked for a spark, its really weird
-
i say its a relay issue (fuel or ecu and when it cools down she restarts)
-
fuel pump relay? (b4 someone else says it )
nah not that
-
could be ecu relay though
-
When it cuts out does the fuel pump relay click a few times?? because thats what mine's doing and sounds like the same issue, let me know how it goes
-
try cleaning your throttle body and all breather pipes. as mentioned before try checking your relays as well.
-
ive been told by mate the mechanic its the ignition module/coil pack so ive ordered 1 from ebay £22 so not to much i guess, how much are the ecu and fuel relays?
-
Yea im saying pump issue.
Mine used to do this for ages, till some bright spark from RAC wired my Fuel pump relay so it was Live permenantly, it then used to suffer from a dead battery all the time.
New relay resolved the issue tho, along with ripping out the dodgy wiring job the RAC guy had done.
Check that power is running to the pump when its cut out! it should prime before you start the car (lift the back seats and put your hand over the pump or listen for this)

Fuel pump relay = £25
ECU relay = £11
