Hi all, im sure this this question must of been posted before but I cant find it.
I have been reading this post with much interest. http://www.qpeng.co.uk/aguswap.html
I am thinking about doing this conversion to the mrs 91 mk2 golf 16v.
I am very mechanicaly minded but no nothing about golfs (I play with land rovers in the mud).
I have a few questions:
1) I see they use the standard 8v gearbox, I have read that they wont take the power for long? Is the 16v gearbox the same, what sort of power can it handle?
2) Do I just fit it with the standard box and see how long it lasts?
3) If it cant take the extra power what is the best box to fit? I have read they are cable shift, how hard is this to fit, what parts do I need to get and what bits need fabricating?
4) I know they fitted a AGU engine but I am finding it hard to find one? I have seen a few AUM engines on ebay with low(ish) miles, Will the AUM fit the same as the AGU, ie mounts, turbo hoses, water pipes all in the same place?
5) Has any one been running a 20v on the QPEng EMS kit? What is it like? Any probs with fitting and running?
Sorry if these seem like silly questions but any advice or links on how to carry this convertion would be good! Cheers.

I think a G60 box would be better?
