well after my happy experience thsi morning with the valver and its NCT, I get home, pull up, root for my keys and it splutters and dies..... then wont restart.
this is not good.
ok, it turns over, but wont catch, I've pulled the fuel pump fuse and its exactly the same, I think its fuel.
could it be one of these mythical relays, or am I into a game of peek-a-boo with the fualt - pups etc??
any suggestions :undecided:

Hi, have you checked for a spark?
Take a sparkplug out, put the lead on and hold it on the engine, turn the engine over and check for a spark.
If there's no spark it could be the coil gone, i had this two weeks ago.

apologies for letting this drag
I'd already pulled a plug and could smell petrol and was getting no spark... was convinced it was teh coil... but stupid easter bank holiday mneant no parts gathering until Tuesday...
So, its sorted this morning, coil in, spark, great, new plugs and she's running perfect again.

Happened to me yesterday too. Pulled up at petrol station , came back to the car, it turned over but wouldnt start .I thought it was the immobilser not turning off . Had to get the car recovered to a garage. Turned out the coil had a crack in it. New coil and it runs like a dream now.
