I'm after gettin a set of Pirelli 'P's polished... just not sure where to go!
I'm in Preston, Northwest - does anybody know someone that can help me out??

do em yourself. you'll save a packet and have loads of satisfaction afterwards aswell as an aching arm :)

yeah pirellis would be one of the easier alloys to polish i would have thought

Ive seen some stuff that 'dremell' sell. Its got those polishing bits on them but are these ay good as i also need some wheels polished.
Do you have to laquer the wheels after?

sod the dremal. get some wet n dry in various compounds. start with something like 80. that'll take off most of the crap that's on there. then work up. you'll start to see it getting more and more mirror like. It's probably best to get them laquered afterwards to protect the finish, but that's a guess. I'm no expert on polishing.
it's a long and painfull process, but it's cheap to do yourself and the finished results are worth the effort.

to add to that, after you have gone through all the grades of sandpaper to get the polished mirror finish use some autosol cutting paste. i think 80 is a bit harsh, thats like for wood. use 120ish on the kerb marks and about 200 on the rest working up through to the fine stuff like 1200 wet n dry (use a bit of washing up liquid instead of water ;))
if you laquer them they wont be as shiny but not by much. if you dont laquer them then all you have to do is wax them every time you wash them to give the bare metal some protection.
