Is this right or just them bein idiots?? :undecided:
-
Blimey, I got mine from euro car parts for about £4 I think!!
-
yeah thats correct. you might be thinking of the ecu relay, that one is £10+Vat

Correction Euro Car Parts £8.95 for the fuel pump relay
-
Us idiots?
Does sound expensive! Think when I got mine which was nearly 4 years ago it was about £16.
And yes the ECU was £11 inc VAT
Wouldnt buy the ECP ones!
-
thats nothing, i just looked up some seat cupra r brembo brackets. used to be 16+VAT, now 105+VAT!!!

Blimey
Oh well looks like its unavoidable!!
Cheers for feedback
-
I got a draw full you can have for £25 cant say that they work though
-
LOL yeh maybe not
-
Can be easily checked! Just need to fit in car and drive it for a while, or run it stationary until hot. the take out and if warm all round they fine!
-
Yeah ECU relay gets warm but fuel on stays cold+ car starts cutting out ater bout 10 mins, its also a light grey 'crap cheap' one!
-
Aha! Its the fuel relay then!
-
Or not.......Bought new one from VW, nice new clear/white one made in Germany......same problem
Cuts out after bout 10 mins, relay warms up.....fuel pump relay then goes click bout 3 times as it cuts out????
Cleaned TB out so its all shiney, all vac hoses seem fine+ when i disconect them it starts to die.
The small one from inlet manifold to end of fuel rail is unsplit+unclogged but the engine runs fine with or without it??
So now im thinking could still be ECU relay, new fuel relay is also duff, something up with fuel presure regulator?? if that is the thing on the end of the fuel rail that the vac hose joins to. but the relay clicks as cutting out+nothing comes up on vagcom so im still thinking a relay or something like that!!!!!!!
Cheers for all the help + sugestions guys

Cheers for the offer man but have swaped over a few used ones+ am getting fed up so am prepared for the extreme expense of new relays from the stealers lol, will let u know if i change my mind.
-
+ still running abit rough
might just need new dizzy cap+rotor , found deposits on them, presume its the gap widening+causing deposits from the arcing??
Any suggestions welcomed!!
-
Yes that small bit of vac hose does run to the fpr, sure that vac hose controls it so it should have an effect on it if you remove it. Maybe it isn't working properly, try spraying abit of wd40 through it
Oh and vac hoses can look ok to the naked eye but they can suffer small cracks and can callapse when they get hot, i'd swap those 3 main ones for some silicone 3mm id, get that from the bay for a couple of £££'s.
As for relays, i'd stick to the stealers for them.
-
the one going to the fuel rail is 3mm id but the 2 others are larger more like 6-8mm?? one goes off from the TB left down to something buy the airbox+the other off the inlet manifold right hand side then round the backleft off somewhere else to the ecu possibly??
-
Yeh the main one off the inlet mani runs off to the ecu....and 3mm id will do for all the vac hoses, i changed em on my old valver, used the silicone stuff as it doesn't deform when hot.
Although i never had to change the one from the throttle body to the airbox as i had an induction kit.
-
No the other is aparently to the brake servo??
ONe to the charcole canister+ other to fuel rail!!
Engine is 8v ADY by the way...
Just replaced ECU relay+ still same symptoms......
Found a receipt for crank sensor as well from last march so????????
Not many options lefT??
Cheers guys
