Title: Cig' Lighter / Power socket

I need to replace mine as the previous owner has obviously "forced" a charger or something into it and I need to use the sat nav etc... and the one in the boot is too far away.

Anyone know how easy it is to do and where can I get the parts?

Easy job as the ashtray comes out.

Should be quite cheap from VW TBH  :smiley:

You can get the cig lighters from any where but i think they vary in size and the mk4's is quite small.

Here's how to remove the ashtray:

Thanks Rich, saw that on Voodoo's thread which is what prompted me to post this, as it is a job i have been meaning to do since i got the car in September and just not got around to doing.

Ah i see - price it from VW if its stupid money then look elsewhere somewhere like GSF or Eurocarparts.  :smiley:

Fixed this this morning, took about 5 mins. Piece of p1ss!
