erm, ignition is switched on  ( basics first - mine has to be on position 2 - so all dash lights have to be on  :undecided: )

are you using an ISO connector, or have the looms been  Hacked up ?

its an ISO connector, came straight out of the old stereo, and into the wiring loom, then into the new stereo

ah, is there an INLINE fuse buried down behind the stereo opening ? ? ? ? ?

does the Original WORKING ( it was working yes )  HU work ?

As has been said, does / did the original headunit work?

Probably need a multimeter to check if you have any power around to be honest

I had a problem when changing H/U's and was with the remote wire from ignition.
Solution was to wire it up to permanent live.

No idea if this will solve your problem though!

just take the front off the radio eachtime!, you can either tap the red and yellow in together wich will as has been said keep it on untill turned off or the other thing you could do is switch ure ignition on and off and see what works or doesent work with ure ignition off ie: heater controlls, multimeet the wires behind the heater controls and see wich one looses power when the ignition gets switched off,

then tap into that wire and run it up to the ignition live on ure radio...........it will then switch as normal!

hope this helps
