Title: r1 carbs on an 8v?

i saw the r1 carbs on a 16v on the cover of pvm couple a few months back, but do u recon that can be done on an 8v??
i was thinking of going the carb route when the 2e bottom end is in, but my dads got a set of r1 carbs lying about so rather than spend loads of money on twin webbers or sumthing, maybe this would be an option??

any help is apreciated
