anybody running this kit?
Been looking on DPM at this kit seems like a good price and a good but of kit and hopefully something ill look to buy at the end of the month to reduce the body roll and get it on ready for when i have money for the Weitec's
-
Will look forward to seeing replys myself stink. Looking to buy over next few weeks, and to be honest didn't even realise they did a 25 f&r, I was looking at 22 & 25. Result...
-
well tbh when it comes to ARB i havent got a clue lol, but readign a few posts over on uk-mkiv's Damien at DPM has advised a few people the overall best set up would be the 25/25 i know some have 25/28 but yeah see what others come back with
-
the rear sud be little thicker than the front is best

+1
said it before but just to re-iterate i run the standard front bar and the whiteline adjustable rear and its spot on for the way i drive (spirited when possible)
-
from reading other posts is 28mm the best rear to go for?

depends on your style really - apparently the whiteline on its stiffest setting is equivalent to a 28mm bar (not 100% sure on this) but i've yet to try it out on that setting due to the crap weather
-
well its down to ur own liking really .... some said 25mm is enough and some prefer 28mm .. jus like on coilovers some said hot tunning coilover is good but i been on a car fitted with hot tunning coilover and i didnt like it one bit never been in a car with such a bad ride .
-
so im going to assume that if you do like to 'have a drive' thicker is better = less body roll
-
to have a drive is not necessary to have the 28mm arb . my mate got the 28mm rear arb he also fitted kw v1 coilover and thats is quite stiff .... like rhyso said get an adjustable ones then u got best of both world ...

yes but you need to make sure its balanced
as i said i'm yet to try the hardest setting on my whiteline so may well find it upsets the balance
-
i think u prob will upset the balance as ur front arb is standard ..... but u wont notice it much in normal driving but once u start pushing it then u will really notice it,u will be the front end rahter soft ...

hence why i'm waiting for better weather before testing it out  really didn't fancy the back end of the car trying to steer the front over the winter!

well ,if thats the case then i think u got one of the bargain mod of the year converting ur golf to rear wheel drive action
-
well from what im hearing then the 25mm rear should still reduce the body roll, im not slinging it into corners like a tool so i would of thought for my needs it would be suitable

yep the Eibach kit should be spot on for what you want
as with all things suspension whats suitable for one person can easily be completely wrong for someone else
we all have our preferences

Mmmm what price do you think that would be to do as i need a new steering rack
-
well u dont really need the rack .. TT is a short rack (lock to lock) if u on a budget u change the parts it need to be changed .(TT wishbones, TT or r32 front anti roll bar ,TT drop link , TT hub carriers and TT/r32/lcr/s3 strut or collies ....
-
ahh ok so mainly upgrading the wishbones for TT ones
-
yeah ... TT wishbones is cast and the mk4 wishbone is pressed so during high speed cornering the mk4 wishbone bend slightly whereas the TT WISHBONE will stay the same ..... also TT anti roll goes under the driveshaft so when u lower the car it wont catch the driveshaft whereas the mk4 anti roll bar is on top of the driveshaft so when u go lower than 50mm it will stasrts to rub ...
