i got 4 porche wheels that i want to fit, unfortunately the center of the wheel that slots onto the brake disk is about 2mm too short in diameter, is it safe to grind the wheel center to get a larger hole thus making it able to fit!? if you see what i mean? any advice would be appreciated.

If it is only 2mm then you will be fine.
-
cheers, will put some pics up when im done

I took mine to a engineering shop had had them done by laser measurement. Was all perfect and I was happy with the result. So no, unless your sh1t hot with a grinder then I would take the better option.

Like Martz says I would be worried about causing any imbalance in the wheels.
Best get an engineering shop to machine them for you!
-
any idea of prices? i was gonna get a drill with a decent drill bit on and run it around the inside few times till iv taken just enough off to get the wheel on.
-
No ideas on prices mate! You'll just have to ring around a few local places.
Doing what you suggest wouldnt be very successful and you would end up breaking loads of drill bits!
-
Dont bother with a drill/dremmel etc it will end in tears.
It will take about an hour and half to do on the cnc mill to do it properly.
Thats about £60 or £15 per rim, bargain
How bad are the edges (kerbed?) as this is the only real issue when setting up (for me).
-
I paid £50 for the work, cash. Took them half hour as it is the setup that takes the time. Tyres must be off though.
-
rim edges are fine, i thought as its only 2 mm it wouldnt be that hard obviously i was wrong! (naievity is such a nice thing lol) well as 2 of the tyres arent on anyways the tyres arent the problem, its the shelling out another £60!! bite the bullet i guess as they are pretty sweet rims, cheers for advice as always!

You know it makes sense mate! best not to mess around with things that could give you problems in the long run!

did they re machine the lead in?
Still things take longer and cost more dan sarf
You can do some wheels with the tyres on, if your machine is big enough, i have done S1 RS turbo wheels with rubber on but never D90s so ill shut it :lipsrsealed:

where do you live mate? i could do them for you for a few quid cash in hand. i wouldnt suggest doing them by hand tho, no chance of getting them true.
