Title: 2.0L 8v convert Help!

Hi all.in the process of a 2.0L 8V (MK3GTI) convertion into my1.1,but i would like to have front mounted carbs on my engine.

can I ?

What head is recommended???

any help would be greatfull!

Yes they did a crosflow head for the usa market.

They also put the crossflow head in the new beetle, mk4, the bora and maybe a couple of others. The only 2 engine codes I know that got over here are the APK and AQY but you may as well get the complete engine which may be a bit more expensive to buy than a mk3 gti one but will be a damn sight easier to get hold of than a loose head (took me ages to find the one I have but Im going for the complete engine if I ever get some money to spend on my golf) and I belive they need a couple of mods to one of the oil feeds in the head and for the coolant outlets (do a search, its been covered a few times)
