Just fitted an induction kit to the wifes car and it is now hard to start unless you give the go pedal some gas when turning the key, then it keeps idling really rough like its hunting. Mind you it did this since we bought it but seems to be a bit worse now, could it be something to do with the sensor that was connected to the OEM airbox - thats still plugged in just moved out of the way?
Thanks.

put the oem airbox back on see if it cures it, could be the maf sensor try unplugging it see if its better

I'd say MAF has finally given up due to the new induction kit...

Not sure how it was fitted but a good thing to check is the battery connection. If the battery was removed then the car will idle badly and wont start well if the connections are slack. Also MAF sensor lol

This happened to me with a k&n typhoon kit, car ran but sounded like a tractor!! So I took the kit off and put the oem air box back on smoothed with the r32 dsg intake and a piper cross panel filter now it runs sweet as a nut!

Just remembered I had the door panel off to change the door lock and the battery ran flat coz i had the doors open and radio on, so it might be down to the car not being run properly yet - only done 1.5 miles since the battery was put back on.....

I'd give the battery a proper charge up, as it takes about 500 miles of diving to get it fully charged that way! ;)

That's no sensor, that's your ignition amplification module. If you've knocked a wire on that or have stuck it somewhere giving it a dodgy earth you could have the symptoms you describe.
