hi, want to lower my golf bt about 35-40mm and was wondering what my options are, i.e. can i buy just new springs or do i need shocks too, coilovers etc...

also whos the best for not too much money as im on a bit of a budget!

If thats all you want to lower it by then a set of lowered springs is all you'll need.
may be a good idea to change top mounts at the same time though.

You can just buy springs but you risk this damage and the ride will be seriously effected. I would go for spring/shocks or coilovers.

I just fitted coilovers to my Golf and it feels good. Not too harsh, and they are ajustable.

Edit: Beat to it -Yea you can use standard dampers.
