Title: Under bonnet sound proofing
Post by: Shady Pioneer on 05 April 2009, 19:13
I didn't really know where to put this topic, I was gonna put it under Cosmetic Matters but didn't feel it was appropriate there, but wherver it should go I'll move it to (seeing as I can ). Anyhow, wouldn't mind getting under the bonnet sound proofed a bit, as there's nothing there atm, what would be my best bet using...**give suggestions**.

Cheers guys.

Some MK3's came with it (TDIs i think) and it appears on ebay a bit.

Not sure how good it is though - i tried some on a previous car that i won't mention and it made no noticable difference  :lipsrsealed:

I know my mates VR6 has some, not sure if it was standard or not but just thought if there was a cheap method of doing it I would, might not make a huge difference but surely would help...?

I would not bother to be honest, cars run much cooler under the bonnet without it.

Mine has it, don't think it makes much difference to be honest.

I took mine out and it made no difference what so ever! I really wouldn't bother!

as said..igone the under bonnet stuff...but if you want it quieter fit a full under tray from a tdi, this will remove more noise and help with water/belt issues the mk3's have!
