Post by: Dan34 on 05 April 2009, 18:54
Right quick question here, where abouts are the coolant temp senders located (one for clocks and blue ECU one) ive attached a pic and i think the one ive ringed is the one for the clocks but im not sure where the ECU one is, anyone help?

i think the one for the clocks is the lower one down and the top one for the ecu best way is get it warm and disconnect each one and see if the temp gauge stops working

No just disconnect the wire, dont take the sensor out. For what its worth the black one is for the coolant temp (gauge in the car) not sure if that helps

Looks like you've got a diffreent set-up to mine (8v digifant). I've got black and blue sensors in the housing bit where you've circled.

Is there only 1 sensor there? Looks like it has 2 sets of wires coming off it. Maybe a previous owner has done rigged something up?

large 2 pin sensor is for ecu, single pin small one is for dash gauge.  The dash one is incorrect, it should have a black colar, I can see yours is white. White colar one is for MFA oil temp.

early digifants have a metal water flange with threaded sensors, late ones have plastic housing with push fit.
