starting to get a little noisey in the cabin! it quickly turns into a headache at 70mph!!!
-
I know there quite cheap parts wise, but anyone know how much they are to change! I ve heard they can be a pain sometimes and they need pressing out the hub or with some gentle persuasion.
-
You need access to a press to get them removed.
-
I don't know of a price but you can use a bench clamp.
-
Well I have tried with assistance to do this today with no avail.
Had all the tools required to complete the job fell into a major problem!
All I had to do was remove the hub from the drive shaft so that I could press out the existing bearing and replace with a shiny new one and bugger me would it budge??? Hell NO!!
After several attempts with ever increasing hammer sizes and bearing/hub pullers it was decided that it would be a garage job as the hub seems to be seased upon the drive shaft spline.
So now this week I will have to get prices for a complete job from a garage.....balls.....so will find out and post my costings later this week.
If you attempt this then I hope yours goes alot smoother than my attempt!

Oh sh*t fill me full of confidence why dont you?
Mine needs an MOT it shouldnt fail though should it on noisey wheel bearing? although the steering wheel is majorly off centre but does not pull to the left or right?
Also my ABS light is on will that make it fail aswell? I bought VAGCOM but could never get it working. was made redundant last week and I need my car asap.
F*CKED basically i know!!!!
-
it wont fail on the noise but will on the play in the bearing.
i have never had issues with wheel bearings and have always done them the old school way (lump hammer and drifts)
