I have just removed some clear lenses from my car as they looked gash. I was 100% they were aftermarket but they have a vw/audi logo on the back and a part number... also they are Hella. Can anyone shed any light on these and what basis they were supplied on??

I have the same units on my valver. Best way to make them look OK is remove the tinted bulb covers, use a soldering iron and screwdriver to melt through then break out the orange cover. Fit silver tinted bulbs (got mine in Halfrauds) and Robert in your mothers brother.
No pics on my photobucket, will try and get some up.

or buy the rangerover sport supercharged , bulbs like mine

Hella have always been a big player in after market products, especially making grills that would incorporate auxillary driving lamps, fog light kits, etc etc, but always aimed at the higher end of the market, like Bosch and Cibie, those lamps that you have could possibly have been supplied by a VW dealer...

More than likely just a OE supplier production stamp. No "factory" value to them.

giz the part number and i can look it up! could be the aftermarket manufaacturer took casts from OE light units and thats why there is a VAG part number on there. do the actual lenses have hella stamped on anywhere, if not they aint proper hella ones.
