Any one tried any of the cheap vagcoms on ebay as my elm scan doesn't work on my wifes Golf

Vagproducts.co.uk VAGCOM is what I have about £15. works well for fault codes.

just read the reset service indicator thread, thanks for pointing that out, think i will be getting the one seen on vagproducts unles i can get my elmscan to work.

just get lead of ebay and use 409 works fine

Thanks for the info think i will go for cheap ebay for now, not impessed my elmscan won't work.

only thing im worried about is mine is a 1998, and it says 2002 onwards, also my laptop runs vista, so not sure if it'll work.

Mine works fine on vista (409 version).

I just used the XP driver on the cd supplied.

Make sure you run vagcom with administrator access level tho!
