hi everyone i bought my mk2 1.8 8v 3 weeks ago had no problems apart from a blowing manufold but now it starts and stops when it likes. aa guy came and put a live from the battery to the coil. that is a tempary fix but he couldnt find any problems and didnt know what was causing the fault. any ideas or anyone know how to fix the problem any ideas welcome

Might be worth stating what year/engine it is.
Then list *something* about what happens when you try to start it and under what conditions it stops.

Hi

Lol  Digi-jet?
It's K-Jet or Digifant.
Lol - I just googled K-jet golf (http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-GB%3Aofficial&um=1&sa=1&q=k-jet+golf&btnG=Search+Images&aq=f&oq=) to get you some pictures, and a bunch of them are off my project thread, legend.

Mine did something similar - the pins on the ECU connection (the box under the plastic rain tray in the driver's side of the engine bay) where totally corroded - I cleaned them up with fine sand paper and this sorted it.
-
That is when I had my old 8v digifant.

oil breather gromit?? ive done 3 of them in 8 months

do you have a big bunch of keys? i did and its a common problem with the ignition barrell. a bad connection inside and the keys put a strain on it. i use just the vw key now, and its never done it again
