This is probely going to be the funniest thing you ead this evening, but ive done my web searching and altho i know a bit more, im still not sure...lol
I am fully aware of what a dump valve is, its purpose etc, but wasnt sure if you could put one one a diesel...
apparently according to sites ive read, you can, its possibly pointless, but you can..
so theres the first point..
2ndly, if one wanted to do so, what would you guys suggest buying? brand.. what parts etc..
Many thanks for any help for little blonde me.lol

Why do you want one? Dont say for the noise :embarassed:
-

Forge do mk5 specific ones but I'm unsure if they do one for the TDI engine. Bailey Motorsports (I think?) do generic ones.
There's a mk5 TDI and a mk4 GT TDI with blow off valves in the city here that I see from time to time. The mk4's one isn't that loud but the mk5's one is pretty loud. People seem a bit disappointed when they look at it pass and spot the TDI badge instead of a GTI one
If you like the sound then fair enough, each to their own  If a Forge one will fit the TDI remember that they do an adjustable one if a full blow off valve is too loud.

cheers fo that..
ive taken all badges of it at the rear. Just got my gt spot badge on front grill...lol
i know im being blonde here, but im just on demon tweeks (just browsing) and theres all sorts available... is it just the valve I need.. as theres adapters, twin pieces.. :undecided:
-
I can't help you there cause I honestly don't know :undecided: Can depend on the brand.
-
thats alrite, thanks for the info anyways..
-
personally i'd save your cash and put it towards something that will give an actual benefit

Any good gains to be had from a remap caz? Is that why ur after a d/v???

always good gains to be had from a remap but a DV has NO PERFORMANCE BENEFIT on a diesel - its purely for the sound
-
No, no ganies to be had, just one of those things thats just a personal opinion on it.

Since noone has mentioned it yet.. you can't put a normal dv on a tdi, since there is no conventional throttle you can't rely on a vac to operate the dv. You have to get a special kit made up which are usually electronically operated. http://dervdoctor.co.uk/ is the place to visit.

cheers for that! May be taking a trip to Derby soon! .. never been before.lol
decent prices too.

The only "dump valve" I personally need is the one between my butt cheeks!

Don't bother with them - combine all the worst aspects of say Thik-Fit Kwik-Fit, add that to the worst aspects of PC World - and you are getting near the reputation of DT.

Yup - a turbo-back Milltek zorst.

The FSI engines are identical. They are not throttled either, which is why they also need a vacuum pump for the servo.

each to their own
thanks for the info...
