Post by: rob026 on 03 April 2009, 11:41
I have mk3 16v abf, lately when I give it a bit of welly at around 3500 - 4000 rpm it feels hesitant almost like ive got a car full of people, normally at this rpm it would fly off, am i just in need of a tune up or is it something else

E30 or just 30.

Just in case the relays are situated in the fuse box above the fuses. And fusebox is in front of your right knee when driving!

Sounds like a comment from an 8v owner, cos he ran to hide cos its quicker than getting in his car

Clean you mass air meter, sensor element should be silver not black with dirt

There is no air mass meter in a 16v, check all your vacuum pipes, especially the one going from the throttle
body to the ecu(this is your air mass meter on a 16v(map sensor)). And give your throttle body a good clean.

Does it smell of petrol? Is the fuel economy down?

To be honest mate sounds like a broken vacuum hose, specifically your map sensor hose.
