Shame they're dropping the V6 but I guess it makes sense, should be a bit more interesting than the GTi anyway! :)

Still less power than a Focus rs, going to interesting to see what is quicker on the road.

270bhp r20 4wd - rs is still 2wd iirc, so the power is down more, not sure if the the tunability of the ford engine is as good as vw either.

Volvo T5 lump in the Focus so very easy to tweak.

Love how it's got a TDI badge on the rear   I think it looks nice, bar the masking tape to hold it together, oh and the twin exhaust at the back, I know it's not finished but that needs sorting.

interesting, i do actually like the look of the new rs but if i had the cash (and i dont) for increased hp purposes and drivaility the obvious choice would be 4wd! (just checked and autoexpress say the rs is going to be 2wd with a LSD)

Yes the RS is fwd but most of the roadtests have said it handles really well with no torque steer.

same kerb weight as a GTi yet it has 4wd?   That's impressive if it's accurate.

High BHP FWD cars with ATB diffs work well on tracks but in the cold crap surfaced real world they'll always be jittery.  4wd is always going to be the sensible way forward.

bar the masking tape to hold it together

You may find that the masking tape is just that - it's masking design features they don't want us to see.

You bloody Golf3 boys - you think everything's held together with masking tape and rust - it's not like that on other Golfs, you know

All of the Focus Rs road tests have said it is fine and none have mentioned torque steer.

yes im sure it is for 193 bhp but as soon as you start tinkering under the hood like most dubbers would do its a different story

Focus RS is 303bhp from the factory, it has a special design of lower ball joint which somehow cancels the torque steer.
