Can anyone help? Usual story: Driver's 'leccy window stops working, removed door card to find the cable has frayed, snapped and then got all snagged up in the motor body!! Everything else is fine and I've managed to remove the cable but no local dealers/breakers will sell me just the cable and are trying to get me to buy the whole damn regulator. Anyone know of anywhere that i might be able to buy one or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and shell out for a whole new regulator? Any help greatly appreciated guys and gals, don't be shy!

Nasty.
I say your best bet is to try more scrap yards or look on ebay or somewhere for a second hand regulator.
I had a new regulator at vw recently, luckily under warranty, otherwise it would have been ?208 inc fitting. Which is a bit steep when all you need is a cable.
You could try Euro car parts as found in the deals section on the forum. the guy there might be able to help.

I brought 2 rear motors and all the bits for 60 quid for the pair from a local scrap yard
So like jte said "search around the scrap yards"
