Need to get the wife something economical........

I was thinking the MK5 GT TDI?

I believe its 140BHP - the diesel model?
Also, what kind of mpg do you get out of it?
Are servicing costs etc the same as the GTI?

Promised the wife a car, so gonna have to get her one now that I have mine!
Want something economical though - so when she aint using it I can take it to work and back sometimes as well ;)
