Title: mk1 cabrio branch
Post by: bigkev750 on 22 July 2004, 21:20
hi all
my mate has a mk 1 cabrio gti which i have spent a shed load of hours tuning his motor and told him to get a branch manifold to get the best out of the tuning but he tells me he has already had 4 magnex manifolds all of which cracked, the last one being fitted by magnex themselves.now he wants to keep the original on but its crap.surely there must be good manifolds out there or is this just an isolated incident
please help
cheers Kev ;)

I looked into this and there was also a good article recently in the Golf+ magazine.

There appears to be a big problem with the branch manifolds cracking on mk1's and cabs. I wanted to get rid of the useless 4 into 1 manifold so I plan to replace mine with the earlier type that was 4 into 2, similar to the mk2 manifold.
