Looks like the first batch have all been 5 doors, as per the press cars. They look as per the mk5 in 5 door

They will look the same cos VW the cheap skates didn't change the wheels!!!!
And 36k Euro is ridiculous money. Thats £36k in the current climate
-
Sideskirts will cost a fortune if that is one piece upto the roof

Didnt they add the black inserts in the wheels, which is slightly different from the mk5 monzas ? Might be wrong though, maybe someone can say for sure.

The car itself looks nice, but they REALLY needed to re-think the alloys. They just don't look right, like when people put crappy mk5 reps onto mk4's

................as above.Should have gone for a BBS ch style .
-
The wheels are the only thing that lets people know it's a GTI and not a smoggy GTD.
Not a good effort on the GTI, shame.
-
Never was a real fan of the Monzas tbh, love the MK5 but not them wheels. And the Candy White MK5 looks much better than the White MK6, mind you the black MK6 looks much better than the black MK5 lol!
-
How small do the brake discs look
-
Still staggered that Xenons aren't standard in this day and age. I'd never buy another car without them.
-
I don't understand why they haven't banned Xenons, to be honest.

Why would they be banned ?
-
when are you going to be able to get them as an option? They aren't even listed yet!
-
Given that VW are making a healthy profit even in the current climate and that the Mk6 was brought in to reduce costs, I think they are taking the p155 with the price. Not that I'm too bothered as I won't be getting one...
-
Black one looks nice. Only thing I'd say is that the fogs look too bling and too bright. They should have been smoked. Also, there's too much going on in the lower front spolier/grill section - a bit messy to be honest. :undecided: Apart from that, it looks ok, but I still prefer the Mk5 GTI in terms of looks. They should have spaced the rear exhausts like the Mk5 R32s also - the Mk6 ones look too far apart and the small diameter accentuates the space between them.

Ok interesting comment, I am intrigued also as to why?
-
It's something of a mis-guided comment.
Properly specified HID headlights, fitted in a legal fashion are fine.
The problem is numpties like Kells fitting cheap kits to cars without headlamp levelling systems, with no headlight washer systems, behind lenses that aren't designed for HID units.
These are the cahnts dazzling other road users. 'upgrade' kits for fitting HIDs to older cars should be banned for sure.

Good explanation, ta.

They are available in europe to order from week 22.

I was told May by my dealer, so week 22 may be right if its the end of May they were talking about.

OT, sorry

I find the dazzling lights often come from new BMWs and they surely don't have "cheap upgrade kits for older cars". Or am I mistaken?
It is a bl**** nuisance, when those lights poke you in the eyes via the wing mirrors, after you have already clicked them away on the inside mirrors. A common experience, I assume...
Well, let's not get too political, but I am certainly not ordering Xenon lights to annoy other road users.
That aside, the new GTI looks FANTASTIC!

Why don't you order them because they are much better then ?
