Post by: loki86 on 01 April 2009, 02:50
no sorry if this has been posted already but i would like to know

i have the 2.0 engine with the 5 speed gearbox
will the six speed out of the newer generation mk's fit my car or will i need to just deal with the 5 speed

if it can be done i would like to know regardless of how hard it is to do

Well it won't be a simple bolt on fix if at all possible? You can buy a 6speed kit for the 020 mk3 box but it's not cheap (try quaife.com for info)

I doubt anything off that would fit, i dont think the Mk4 front even fits,  unless you get hold of the rare MK3.5 cabby front end.
