hi all as it says i have a mk3 1.8 cl changed all the leads plugs dizzy cap etc and still running lumpy.any ideas?
-
vacuum leak, dirty throttle body or temp sensor are first to check
-
its a carb not injection .am i right?
-
its single point injection (basically an electronic carb unit and has an ecu to control it)
-
right i never know that thanks. more of a mk 1 and mk2 person. thought i might have put the leads on the wrong way are something silly ie wrong order on to the ddizzy cap
-
also noticed temp running cool till i get in traffic then goes up to normal temp

sounds like a thermostat issue? (mine does this too but she runs 100% and its a swine to fit on my engine!!)
-
on my dizzy cap it says 1234 does that mean the number were the leads go and am i right in thinking the fireing order go from left to right in the order of 1234
-
firing order is 1-3-4-2 (but i'm not 100% what the 1234 is about?)
-
the numbers refer to each cylinder that lead corresponds to. ie 2 on the dizzy goes to number 2 cylinder.
-
sorry to be a pain do you know which one is which on the dizzy cap
-
ok thanks lads will have a look tomoz and see what i can do
-
am i right in thinking the cyliders go from left to right 1 to 4 in that order?
-
