Title: which model advice

1987 mk2 8v is nearing end of its life, I will have
to replace soon, my dilemma is to
replace with later mk2 8v
mk 3 8v or mk 3 16v
I have read pretty poor performance reports
for mk3 8v.
would i be that dissapointed or is it just perception.

maybe even consider Mk2 16v.

budget would be around ?2.5k
any comments appreciated.

you wont get a mk3 16v for 2.5.

you'll get a late mint mk2 16v for 2.5

rap 8v's altogether

MK2 16v all the way mate, better ,handling perfomance looks etc.   Imo. ;D

Mk 3 16v for ?2.5k is going to be a dog, Mk2 16v for ?2.5k will be mint.

Not much performance difference, MK2 will handle better in standard form.
