Title: Hello,gettin a FREE Mk3 GTI back on the road

Hello,I got given a Dragon green 1997 5 dr Golf Gti after the bonnet blew up and smashed the windscreen and trashed the bonnet.It's been stood on my drive for 6 months.
Got new bonnet and screen and I'm working on it for it's MOT,hopefully next week.
This site has been a godsend for the niggly bits, vac lines,throttle body cleaning,rear brakes (caliper windback tool, grrrr ..dont ask  :angry:).The engine has done 134k with a cambelt change at 127k.
She starts first time ,drives well but has the dodgy jump out of reverse syndrome,no worries though.I'm just goin to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it !!.

cost so far

windscreen £60 fitted
Bonnet £20
Rear Pads £20
needs a new tyre then MOT time.

My bro gave me the Golf ,he is well gutted.It makes me feel warm inside,,aahh the joys of sibling rivalry.
