i would have to say sh!te mate. buy some proper kit that you know what it is not some unknown ebay nonsense. got some pioneer 6910's for about 40 quid and well impressed.
sound deadening doesn't need to go everywhere mainly just the doors and the boot floor. any helps as it absorbs noise, so a small section in the boot is better than nothing.

yeah that's sh!te. if you've ever seen a 2000w speaker you'll know what I mean. I saw one and I could barely lift it!
You don't really need rear speakers. Just spend the money you save on a better set of fronts and a sub.
I put Dynamat on the outer skin of my doors (will do the inner skin soon) and the floor of the boot. Will also do the new boot once it's sprayed up. I did the rear quarters too, but I'm no longer running speakers there so I'll probably bin it to save weight

Products like Dynamax aint really there to deaden sound but to stop the metal panels from resonating.
This acts to stiffen the metal also so that instead of vibrating and sending back distorted noise it bounces the sound back more cleanly.
Well that the theory anyway.
Boot floors are usually pretty solid.
A cheaper option is roofing felt, the thick stuff used on shed roofs, as long as u stick it properly it will have the same effect.

thats what i thought with the 6x9's.. my jbl at home are only 1200w and they weigh ...erm... more than me anyway!!!
I am thinking of leaving the rear shelf as it is now just standar with 2 x 10" subs and a 12" in between running two amps and the front components (if i ever get them) running off the head unit.. What you think?? should this be ok???

Got sumthin similar in my other car and the problem is which channels do ya use off the head unit. i assume u gotta 4 channel one.

errr, the rear ones if you running rear speakers. all 4 are the same output. just means the fading is correct.

i Have a kenwood 12" 400w sub at the moment and waiting on a new headunit being delivered. I also have a 600w and 400w pioneer amps. Does anyone know of any decently priced (preferably sale price ;) ) 10" subs to go with this. I want to get rid of the 6x9 and change front speakers. Should this sound ok or would there be too much bass... Only two 5" components in the front and all that in the back?? Thats why i have always went for 6x9 on the shelf

when you goto a concert you don't stand with your back to the stage do you? That's why you have the best front speakers so all the vocals come from there. A good sound stage is where the vocals sound like there coming from high up in the car.
Remember volume isn't messured in watts! Running a mega powerful amp will mean you can run it at 4 ohm easy with the gain turned right down avoiding distortion caused by amps and headunits running flat out resulting in a better reproduction of the music :)
I'm tempted by a pioneer TS-W101SPL sub which you can get for about ?85 from the right place. 600w and dual voice coils. If possible run your front speakers off an amp too so they get all the power they need that your headunit can't provide. your headunit will also run cooler if you don't use the internal amps. :)
The better amps are made by Genesis, JL, Diamond, Phoenix Gold, Boston and Rockford to name a few. You get what you pay for in this department and don't be put off by low watt outputs on these amps. They blow the ones halfords sell out of the water!

6 1/2" components in the front if you are just having a sub in the back, get some audioscape door builds to put them in ;)

ah thanks.I was going to put them where the speakers are now. I think the standard ones are only about 5 1/4 inch though. They are on the top of the dash. Is this a bad idea???

with speakers like that who are you expecting to hear the tunes, your mates in the car or half the county. Can't beat a bit of bass but i think thats an overkill. I like the warnings of that fact it could make you feel slightly un easy and lead to deafness quality, if i ran a pair of what can only be described as kitchen sinks in the the car id be feeling slightly uneasy.

i agree they do look like kitchen sinks actually ?? I imagine the 100w is of pure squeeling high pitch distortion with no bass whatsoever
