Title: Approaching the Big 60K
Post by: Onge on 21 July 2004, 16:31
My 1995 mk3 8V is approaching 60K
What's gonna need doing, what's the rough total cost?
I want to keep her mint.

Cheers ;D

Erm, you could get a 60k service done.  At a vw dealer or elsewhere.  Phone a dealer and ask how much.  approx ?150 - ?200 i would guess.

You MUST get the cambelt and tensioner changed if it hasn't been done yet. Approx ?200.

If you decide not to go for a dealer service i'm sure you could get a list of items on the service schedule from a dealer.

Other than that, check the condition of the brakes and suspension etc (inspection included in dealer service).

Also - The big 60K????  What are you like?  That's very low mileage for a 9 year old car! :D
