Hi guys please go easy on me I'm new...hope I've put this is the right section.
I am about to buy a 2000 GTI 1.8T AGU Engined golf with the k03 turbo, questions I have are related to mods and power increases.
I plan to fit a full 2.5" exhaust system from the turbo back inc de-cat pipe
A induction kit
A FMIC
An uprated dumpvalve [understand it needs to re re circ?]
And a re-map
Questions are.....
1.Will an induction kit offer much more of a power gain over a panel filter?
2. Will the adition of FMIC cause more lag? if so is it alot? and also is this mod worth doing?
3. I understand alot of you use the R-Tec remap and rate it very highly although I'm not sure they'd come out here to sunny Suffolk? Instead we have a place called 'custom code' any views on there software?
4. What kind of power increase can I expect from these mods? I was hoping 200-220 or is this out of reach of the k03 turbo?
Thanks in advance for all your help

change the turbo for a ko3s is the best advice or k04 but thats a bit of hassle

None whats so ever there is a thread on ukmkivs proving this and the cai has more chance of sucking water
2. Will the adition of FMIC cause more lag? if so is it alot? and also is this mod worth doing?
Have a FMIC and have noticed no differance in power or lag

Ihave CC dont like it not enough torque , Revo is the best map ive used but R-Tech on here seems to get good reviews

Never seen a AGU on a rollers get over 200 with a ko3

with the ko3s turbo and a forge re-circ vavle and just a re-map should see 200-210 bhp mate, also a nice intake and fmi will help alot to see the stage 2 map from r-tech with that you can see 240ish but also need a full exhaust system , (miltech or blueflame) with a de-cat also

I'm getting a full exhaust from turbo back inc de-cat....so is 240 possible or will I need a bigger turbo?
I'd be happy with 200-220 but if it involves upgrading the turbo to I think I'd quite happily stay with 190-200 if this is all I could get.
Thanks for the replys so far

As said the k03 wont give you any more than 200 absolute max.
-
Ok, cheers.
If I was to upgrade is the k03s the best/cheapest way to go?
I'd rather have usable power rather than lag and a big burst of power.
What kind of price would I be looking for a decent 2nd turbo?

you can normaly find a k03s on ebay m8 new or refurbed

Yep K03s with R techs AGU - k03s map will see really smooth 220 BHP - proved at Saturdays RR day

Cheers lads....best I get saving!

Right I have a bit more money then I first thought so at the weekend I'm going to look at a 2001 51 plate model
Am I right in thinking it will have the 's' turbo and be more tunable of is a 51 still to old?
AUM I think I'm looking for? is this right?
-
There are a few early AUM's out there with the old K03 (non "S") turbos out there so its not quite as cut and dry as that though on a 2001 car you should be ok and it should have the K03s.
Have a read of this http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=40194.0
