Title: 16v starter motor

my starter motor has been playin up lateley, its 1988 16v, in my local scrappy is mk3 16v, would starter of this fit on mine :huh:

don't think so - Golf3 = cable change gearbox, Golf2 = rod-change.  Totally different flywheel arrangement and gearbox.

You sure its the starter and not the solenoid/wiring?

Just DIY refurb it, its easy enough and will cost buttons

only 16v and TDI MK3s are cable change, so as long as it isnt one of those then yes the starter will fit. only difference is the plug for the trigger wire is different, but the MK2 spade will fit the terminal on MK3 motor if you remove the plastic plug housing

edit: oh and not a 1.4 or 1.6, those are different

sorted it.prob with my immobiliser, sending an intermitant signal 2 my ignition, so fitted a push button start located on blankin plate where choke would be, still need immobiliser key and key in ignition, but just push button an away we go :laugh: :laugh:
