Title: help! coolant! aah!
Post by: georgietdi on 27 March 2009, 13:22
A month ago i bought a shiny Y reg gt tdi.....have had a few different opinions of whats up but just thought id put it out there before i take it to the stealers!
The coolant light will flash up...STOP check coolant, there's always coolant in it, never far under min., it's happening more frequently but it's been going 2 miles to 200miles until it happens again.
My temp rises to a steady 90 and sits there, never overheated..
Sounds sweet, no funny noises or trouble starting...
The last couple of days I have noticed a little puddle kindv under where the steering wheel sits, i dont know much but iv been told it could be the head...but to me i wouldnt have been able to drive it as far as i have without it going?? or an airlock? or might it just be a leak?
any help would be much appreciated its driving me mad!!!

Hello mate and welcome. :afro:
Have a read here, http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=103826.0  sound like a new expansion bottle needed. However the coolant level needs to be bang on the line...
Not sure why your getting water in footwell?  :undecided: but check the pollen filter cover.
Have a search and see what comes up.
