No idea's chaps??

what do you mean? revving too high at idle yeah? otherwise shift earlier lol.

If its at idle then just wind the idle screw back?
If its not at idle, then as above, let go of the go pedal earlier

is it injection ??
throttle cable sticking ??

It will probably be a carb mate, the 1.3i are rare over here i think.

Had this problem with my 1.6, turned out to be the throttle cable was sticking so I just got it replaced.
However, could also be the carb, if it really revs high when you first turn the key in the ignition, then settles down, then that's definitely the problem.
I have a crap carburettor in mine, it either revs really high or just drops so low it stalls, it's a right pain in a$$...get a Weber! They are far more reliable and your car will be quicker too :)

yeh it revs really high when cold but hardly settles down once warmed up, i reckon it could be something to do with the throttle cable yeh, i'll have a fiddle with it. Cheers for the suggestions chaps
