Title: Changing from semi synthetic to fully synthetic engine oil?

I'm going to change to a fully synthetic 5w-40 engine oil for a bit more protection..
I've always used the GSF semi 15w-40, but can anyone tell me if it's gonna need flushing right out before the new stuff goes in, please?  :undecided:

think 5w30 is too thin

makes my oil light and buzzer come on !!!!!!!!

stick with what VW used they spent millions (well thousands) on engine development , think they know what they were on about
