they have a stealth box for a mk2 3door. i have a mk2 5 door. will this make any difference. eg are the boot shape/size different in a 3 door
-
no
-
thanks dizzie. Any one have these or know of somewhere else that does "boot kits" for mk2. I cant be bothered with the hassle of making one up
-
I was thinking about one due to the fact they don't really rob you of your boot like other enclosures do. They're fairly pricey so I was going to build my own if I ever get round to it.
I'll let you know how I get one with it.

will the enclosure be big enough to get the best out of the sub. they look a little narrow to me???
-
no idea. if you use a smaller box you get tighter bass. my setups never have tight enough bass so I'll try that. I'm going for a single 10" next and all I have here at the mo is ported 12's so I haven't made one up yet.

when you buy your sub it should tell you what cc the box should be for sealed and ported. try and use this because it will be the optimum figure ;)
i started making a stealth box for mk2 boot. its quite easy getting the shape for the back of the box with fibreglass matting, but thats as far as i went :D
to get the exact cc you have to fill the enclosure up with water and pour that into measuring jugs to measure it ;)

LOL, somebody will do that!!! if you must, then put a black bin bag in first to stop the water ruining your hard work, or just work it out mathematically.

i aint too bothered about exact cc.. Or does this make THAT much difference. I have always built what looks right in the car (eg not too big not too small) and will a little messing around I always get a decent sound in the end

its fibreglass adam, water does nothing to it ;) just have to let it dry in the sun for a bit
i have never not used the exact cc when i make sub boxes, and they have always sounded great, but i dont really know how much difference it will make.

just make sure if you've used a MDF front to screw the sub to that doesn't get wet. MDF doesn't like water at all!
