Title: Starting noise

Well got my mk4 gti 8v at the weekend and it's a lovely car only trouble is when I start the car I get a little grinding noise for a sec after the car starts almost as if the starter motor is turning for a second to long? Never heard the noise before as normally in the car but if I start car with the door open I can hear it? I've searched through this section with no joy so hoping you guys may no what it is.

Hello mate,

It will be your starter motor - mine used to do this

Will just beed a bit of white grease spraying in it - job done!

cheers bud least it's nothing serious got a 4hr drive tommorow lol will take a look at weekend and whip starter off
