whats the extra bhp you get with individual throttle bodies for a 1.8 gti mk2 16v, my mates thinking of doing it but before he does i told him i would ask around and see what if any serious performance is made from the throttle bodies!?!?!
-
done right there is lots
-
roughly any idea of how much of a bhp gain there would be?
-
none as don't know of anyone that's put itb's on a stock enigne.
with two exhaust cams mid 180's that's the most std engine. the more tuned teh engine the bigger the gains, also depends on the size of the itbs
-
Im pretty sure ive read that you can get around 15 to 30 bhp mate.
-
thanks mike but i thought there would have been a bit more of a gain then that! lol oh well back to the drawing board

If you want to know about Throttle bodies google a company called Badger 5 they are based in North West i think but make custom TB's for 16V mk2's. Sell them as complete kits or on their own. Theres a write up on the web site about what bhp's can be achieved when fitted.

Not fekin cheap tho are they?
-
haha i was looking at that price and thinking if their asking to call they must wana know how much of a mug you sound like before they tell you how much they can squeeze u for!!! lol im just glad it aint me looking at doing the throttle bodies
-
Worth it tho, would be very tempted myself if funds would allow
-
personally i think the noise that they bring is way to emmence for me and my neighbours lol they already do their nut in with my exhaust adding throttle bodies would jus make it worse

Maybe look into a megasquirt setup using motorbike throttle bodies. If you've got the know how its pretty cost effective and infinately tuneable on a laptop. That's as much as I know about it tho' a friend of mine has done this to his Hillman Imp, a Maserati and a 911 with very good results.
