Title: Caddy based engine swap help related to a mk1

Hi lads,

Not new to the forum as I have a mk2 be me and the lads have picked up a cheap caddy and are looking to change the engine from the standard 1.6 Diesel lump into something a bit more petrol!!


Im thinking a 1.8 8v golf mk2 gti engine may be a decent and compatible option with engine and gearbox change and the ripping out of the loom and changing etc??

What is the best fuel tank to change to also?

Any advice or info is appreciated lads, I can see its going to be a long project!!

To fit the engine is easy enough as it is the same basic front end as a mk1, not sure what to suggest reference the fuel tank however.
