Title: R32 Rear Lights
Post by: sambonumber5 on 23 March 2009, 22:24
I sprayed my lights a couple of weeks ago, but it makes them look dull, and tbh I'm not all that happy with them - where can i get my hands on a set of r32 rear lights? Aside from the stealers!

Are they a direct plug and play replacement ('05 gttdi 140ps)? Cos i'm not much cop with wiring!

Dunno, but it can't be that hard. If it isn't plug and play (which I'd suspect they are as they are genuine VW parts) then just do one light at a time and take your time connecting them. Check operation before refitting the trim as the trim is more of a problem than any wiring

It's a terrible design isn't it? Especially the 'inside' tail lights on the boot!

Hahaa, it is awful!

I recently changed the boot latch assembly and virtually had to take the hatch apart to get to it

This is going to be the next mod for a next month. TBH Im a bit worried about fitting these, doesnt look all that easy. Im sure I will find a "How to" guide online somewhere tho.

Guys, every car job i start always ends with me pulling my hair out.  These lights were one of the most simple things I've ever done.  10 mins a side max.  They are so simple and yes they are plug and play.  As for prices, dealers are the cheapest.  Ask for discount as they will give it.  Awesome order the parts and add a cut of profit so you will find most oem parts are more expensive there.

They are £160 from awesome, I paid £138 from a dealer with a little discount.  Another example, open fog grills sell for around £50 at resellers, VW charge a little over £20

I'd rather pay the good guys at awesome a bit more than line the pockets of my local stealers.
