Title: 16v lowering springs?
Post by: blighty on 23 March 2009, 21:22
i have heard mixed reviews that some springs fit certain models and not others. im looking at buying some, and not having much luck with 2nd hand ones so have been looking at new ones but not really wanting to buy them until i know for definite which ones will fit and which ones wont. i have a 1987 d reg mk2 golf gti 16v.

can anyone help?

cheers :D

all springs fit all models on a mk2 the shocks are physically the same on all of them (rear shocks/springs different on a syncro)
only difference is the spring rates, GTI engine is heavier than a 1.3 so a lowering kit designed for a 1.3 will theoretically be a bit lower if fitted to a GTI if that makes sence
