Well considering I've done the front ones, I considered changing the rear one to match the fronts, but haven't seen any MK3 Golfs with the aero wiper on, seen Polos and MK4s etc, but not a MK3, anyone got any pics?
Cheers fellas.
-
Not got a pic to hand but have seen a few using BMW 1 series complete arm / blade which looks good.

Try and get a pic if you can man, wouldn't mind seeing what they look like. :)

Rear one sticks out too much imo

Guy I had that wiper before, in the end I thought it looked a bit pants, so put the old wiper back one. However, I have got the aero wiper on the back now, it isn't too bad.

-

-
Ah i see! didnt look like it in photo thats all.

Someone was asking the question on ed38 earlier, the Bmw 1 series arm and blade is around £20 and fits straight on.
Still trying to find pictures however.
-
Pics needed!

£20 - where from - a BMW dealer?
i had a look about the local vw dealer and there was nothing at all that would even remotely fit on a mk3
-
The arms on the new Caddy van look good, have to see if they fit!

Well done Guy!
At least 2 of us for a group buy!
-
Reference the washer jet, as it is in the center of motor spindle whatever arm fitted should not matter, must be straight foward to fit as a few people are running them now.
-
Well I for one will see how it looks on Guys and see what he does about his standard washer jet, then make my mind up, Guy, lots of pics needed lol!
-
Wont he have it done by Saturday?
-
Not the best picture.

Not sure, might be best asking on ed38 loads of threads about them on there.
-
i could only find the one thread where that picture came from and the ed38 search function sucks
i have fitted the wiper but before i start hacking the nut cover about I wondered if there were any tips

I take it the wiper are fits straight on, only thing I can suggest is to get a 1 series cover.
Item 9 is the washer jet so looks like it would clear the Golf one ok.

 - thats a really helpful diagram
thats what i thought... I went over to BMW today but they didn't have one in... and there are a few different types apparently...
i might have to 'borrow' one off a 1 series to see if it fits... although for 3 quid it hardly seems worth the quibble
i will pop over to another BM dealer tomorrow to see if they have one
it looks as though it will be a much better fit than a bastardised mk3 cover
-
If it helps the diagram is for a 2006 E87 pre face lift.
The part number was 61 62 7 138 509 but it says now replaced by 61 62 7 199 566
Hope this helps.

509 has indeed been replaced by 566 so have ordered one of them for the grand total of £1.66
i also changed the wiper blade from 11" to 13"... this was a bit of an arseache but it works really well... both blades have to be dismantled to get the fixing clips off and the 11" clip has to go on the 13" blade. I don't know if bmw do a 13" series one fit blade.. but I might have a gander when I go to pick up the nut cover on tuesday!
I have a feeling that the nut cover will need to be modified in some way as on the one series the jet rotates with the blade... one the mk3 it doesn't so the hole is at a completely different angle - we will see!
-
Keep us posted, look forward to pictures.
-
So what part numbers do I need for the arm?

So what part numbers do I need for the arm?
am off to the Bayerische Motoren Werke dealer tomorrow so I will ask if you want me to... once I have sorted the nut cover I will post up a how to: with lots of lovely pics

61.62.7.138.507 wiper arm cost: 8.65 inc VAT
sorry no p/n wiper cost: 11.20 inc VAT
I will post up pics and a how to tomorrow in the mk3 section
-
