Title: Tyres
Post by: Mk2Kezza on 22 March 2009, 17:50
Where is everyone getting thier tyres from at the moment.

I'm looking to get another set of Eagle F1's (195 x 50 x 15) but they have shot up in price since I bought my last set! Anyone got a cheap place to get them from?

All comments appreciated.

Keri

Yeah I have. My tyres are quoting £51.80 (delivery only) and blackcirlces is quoting £83.26 fully fitted

They were only £34 last time I bought from Mytyres!

Just wondering if anyone had any better ideas??

im looking into the same thing myself atm as i need some for my fast approaching mot!

I was running toyo t1-s which lasted me all of 3000miles so im after something a little more hardwearing or i may need to adjust my driving style slightly, if you have a look on hotukdeals there is a 5% discount code for blackcircles

I've been looking at tyre prices on line but they're not even close to the price I got from a good tyre place, do a lot of shopping around, the prices vary greatly IMO.

i always used michelin pilot exaltos 195/50/15 at approx £50-55 a corner bought from a company called costco, but you need to be a member. The 1435/50/15 were approx £80 a corner

Cheers lads for all the advice. There seems to be mixed reaction to the Toyo Proxies? How many miles do they last? I can appreciate that we all drive differently but £28 for them and £51 for the Eagle F1's is quite a difference in price..

What to do???

Camskill seem to be ok but the whole email for prices bothers me.
I'm after 155/55/14 which seems only be made by Nankang NS2, 35.00 plus fitting on mytyres

Mine lasted 3000miles before they resembled something hamilton would use

I've done about 1500 miles on mine and they still look new...When i looked into tyres at the time everyone told me F1's wear quicker....thats why i ended up going for proxes

I've had many miles out of a set of F1's and thats part of the reason why I want another set, but seeing as they are almost twice the pirce of the proxies then maybe the wear will balance out the difference in price.
