Title: Aero Wipers

So im after upgrading my standard wipers to Aero Wipers. Do i need to change the wiper arms or do the blades just retro fit to the original arms? Anybody got any good links or reccommend an eBay seller?

From VW :

Rear Aero wiper parts:


Cap : 6Q6 955 435A
Arm: 6Q6 955 707A
Blade: 6Q6 955 425A

Cost around 20

Front :

MK4 Golf 98>03 . 1J2 998 002

Cost 23 pounds.

The above are for retro fit front blades that just clip on - tho you can get the proper kit complete with arms for around 60 pounds. Depends what you want TBH.  :smiley:

persoanllly i think paying for aero arms is a waste of money. I am sure rhyso will be along soon to say no they not lmao  :grin:

Why don't you look on ebay for golfs being broken? Any car after 2002 will have aero wipers,buy them for £20 posted :wink: Even if they need new blades,it'll still only cost you £40.

Yeah sounds like a plan. My car is an 02 plate and wasn't fitted with them :( I think i might just get the retro fit blades at the moment. I assume that they are a different fitment, and will not fit the genuine arms if i were to purchase them at a later date?

you are correct - the retro fit blades will NOT fit the genuine aero wiper arms
