Title: Motorpoint???
Post by: Trickyboy on 22 March 2009, 10:30
Just schmoozing around the motorpoint website and noticed a HUGE amount of petrol GT Sports on the website, £11999, 09 plates, delivery miles, seem very cheap, so i called them up and they said that they were the 80PS 1.4, i thought the GT Sports were only 140 or 170? Seems something a bit fishy is going on at motorpoint...

Places like that use the pictures of better models to shift the basic stuff... Its the same when they advertise on the tv.
I thought they deal a lot in import cars too from Dubai and places like that???

They have a very large number of ED30's for sale as well - all manual, and all with delivery miles of 9 or 10 miles!

I enquired about their edition 30s.
They are all parallel imports, purchased in 2007 so whilst they are brand new, they've been sat around for ages and only have limited warranty left. They wont negotiate on price either.

Most are imported from Cyprus and as already mentioned, limited amount of warranty left. Was tempted until i delved a little deeper and found that out.

Pretty much no warranty left then, only get 2 years with imports.

You can get a cheap purchase, and if you are lucky, end up with a perfectly fine car. Its a risk but then its reflected in the price i think.

No there wasn't. Power outputs for the GT was either 140ps or 170ps from either 1.4 TSi or 2.0 TDi all variants available with DSG.

The only 80ps model was the "S" in 3 or 5 door
