Title: How much for these options......
Post by: ifti on 22 March 2009, 10:20
Im looking around for an ED30 now, and am planning to have several options dealer fit if they dont come with the car. Just wondering if any of you guys know the rough prices for the following....

A multifunction steering wheel
OEM Bluetooth
RNS510

I know they wont be cheap, but just considering my options!

I want a car with Highline, so if I have an RNS510 and Blueooth, would all directional or call info be displayed on the Highline computer as well??

Cheers

MFSW+Highline was something like a £370 optional extra.

No idea about phone kit.

RNS510 is something like £1800. If you buy from Poland from a particular seller (can't remember the name), it costs around £800 for the unit itself.

Bloody hell - didnt think RNS510 was that much!!
I would like to stay OEM though TBH, and if I could get the unit & fitting in for under £1k I'd be tempted.......

Factory prices for the items as follows:

MFSW - £370'ish - dealer will charge much more and it will be an expensive and lengthy fit - see comprehensive DIY link here:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2938601

OEM Bluetooth - £220'ish + fitting. You need VAG.com to activate - link to Stu's install here:

http://www.octavia-vrs.com/technical/bluetooth.html

RNS510 - approx £1400 dealer + fit. You can do much better by contacting Czech Tommy via here (was approx Euro 1000'ish - simple plug and play fit):

I have his email address if you PM me.

Such a con imo. Aftermarket gets my vote. Just imagine would sort of setup you could get for £1400.

Does the OEM bluetooth allow you to view your phone book/contacts, and then call or end a call all via the Highline display, using a MSFW, if you have one?? So in other words, all do need to do is connect your phone and can access all basic call features without touching the phone??

Does this also work with a parrot bluetooth kit - but just not through the highline display etc?

The Skoda kit supplied by VrStu does as I installed it in my car.  Not sure about the Parrot kit.

Parrot kit works on voice dialling so you can use the phone without touching it as long as you have the MFSW.  You can't access phonebook etc. on the highline display so your phone has to be able to do voice activated dialling

Checkout the FISCON bluetooth units as well. The pro model allows you full touch screen control and phone book viewing on the RNS510.
